Harrison Foundation Supports Sunshine Fund’s £14,500 Fundraiser
The Harrison Foundation was proud to support The Sunshine Fund’s Question of Sport fundraising evening this month, which raised an incredible £14,500 to help children living with disabilities and terminal illness across the North East.
Harrison Foundation trustee Daniel Harrison MBE attended the event, joining guests, supporters and volunteers for what has become one of The Sunshine Fund’s most well-attended annual celebrations. The evening brought together members of the North East community, all united by a shared goal: to provide life-changing specialist equipment for children who need it most.
Earlier this year, the Harrison Foundation donated more than £27,000 to The Sunshine Fund to help fund vital equipment for local children and schools. That donation alone supported 30 equipment applications, benefiting 29 children and one primary school, ensuring hundreds of young people gained access to essential mobility, sensory and learning tools that simply aren’t available through the NHS. The Foundation’s continued partnership ensures that The Sunshine Fund can keep meeting the growing demand for specialist support in the region.
Daniel Harrison MBE said: “It’s always a pleasure to see the North East community come together to support The Sunshine Fund. The atmosphere on the night was full of energy and goodwill and it’s a privilege for the Harrison Foundation to play a part in helping the charity continue its amazing work. Every penny raised goes straight to improving the lives of local children, and that’s something we’re very proud to stand behind.”
The funds raised at the Question of Sport evening will go directly toward providing specialist equipment that enables children to move more freely, communicate more easily, and experience greater comfort and independence.
Since 2017, the Harrison Foundation has proudly supported The Sunshine Fund in its mission to make a lasting difference to families across the North East. Together, both charities are helping to ensure that every child, regardless of ability or circumstance, has the opportunity to live a brighter, more fulfilling life.
